Christchurch mansion

Working like a contempory designer I am going to practice similar to the previous designers. Therefore I have been to look at the historical house in Ipswich, Christchurch Mansion. Here are some of my photos I have found inspiring.

Contempory Vintage

I have found that a number of designers, design in a way which looks at history and use this inspiration. (Kind of like recycling, huh?). Here are some classical examples....

Cath Kidston -

A typical 1950s dress

A well known current design by Cath Kidston

Zoffany -

A historical William Morris piece

A current Zoffany design

BA8 - FINAL!!!

My last project at uni....! I am planning to do something which I am espically passionate about so I this enthusium can show through my workings. In keeping with my dissertation title (Looking back to design forwards - Why vintage design, the test of time) I am going to explore the word and trend of "vintage" and nostalgia and why these are currently such popular trends. Watch this space!

Contempory Vintage - adding stitch and colour.

Taking drawings into the print room - Aging fabrics, using discharge paste and foling.

Some drawings inspired by the patterns on the Romany wagons I saw at the Reclamation yard in Rendlesham.
